Baton Rouge has several highways residents can take to get anywhere they want. Interstate 10 runs north to south from the Mississippi state line to the Texas state line. In Baton Rouge, I-10 runs for 138 miles. Seven main highways have entrances and exits along I-10 and an additional ten Auxiliary Interstates with entrances and exits along Interstate 10.

Public bus transportation is provided by Capital Area Transit System. They run from 6 am to 11 pm Monday through Saturday and Sunday, and Holidays have decreased hours, and they closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

The community also has 17 higher education vocational schools with programs including dental assistant, culinary, cosmetology, film school, and technology, to name a few. Traditional four-year and two-year institutes include Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge Community College, Remington College, and Fortis College.
